Durango, CO - The City of Durango Parks and Recreation Department and the Parks and Forestry Advisory Board are please to sponsor the 28th Annual Arbor Day Celebration on Friday, May 2 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Durango Community Recreation Center.
Events include presentations from students of Park, Needham, St. Columba, and Riverview Elementary Schools; reading of the Arbor Day Proclamation, and award to the Most Valuable Person.
Trees donated by the Durango Nursery & Supply will be distributed to attendees, along with ice cream, courtesy of Meadow Gold Dairy Products.
Speakers include: Duane Smith; Mayor Renee Parsons; Ron Stoner, City Arborist; and Lindsay Gartner, Forester with Colorado State Forest Service.
