On Friday, March 14, 2008, the childcare staff at the Durango Community Recreation Center will offer parents an evening of respite from their children as they host Parents Night Out. Children, ages 4-10, are invited to meet at the Recreation Center to play organized games in the gym, rock climb on the climbing wall, create arts and crafts projects, watch a movie and occasionally swim.
Parents may drop off children in the designated room for that night at the Recreation Center at 6:00 p.m. Staff will provide snacks, games, activities and a movie. Pick up takes place immediately following the completion of the event at 9:00 p.m. The cost is $10.00 per child and parents are not required to remain in the facility for this program. Pre-registration is required at least one day prior to the event. Parents may register their children at the Recreation Center or online at http://www.durangogov.org/resident/parks_leisure/webtracintro.html.
The Durango Community Recreation Center will host additional Parents Night Out events on the following dates: March 28, April 11, April 25 and May 9. For any further questions, contact the Allison Sanguily at 375-7303.
