Durango, CO –In response to passenger trends, the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad will modify its 2008 train schedule to Silverton by eliminating the 7:30 a.m. departure from Durango. With this schedule adjustment, the D&SNG will be better able to utilize its historic equipment and still provide availability to all passengers who wish to ride the train.

The schedule change will not affect the railroad’s ability to accommodate the same number of passengers per day on the three scheduled trains. When necessary, the railroad will add additional cars to the three trains and will add a fourth train on days it is required to meet passenger demand.

The railroad has scheduled an additional bus Monday through Friday to coincide with the 8:15 a.m. train schedule, allowing more passengers to travel to Silverton earlier in the day or to return to Durango by bus. In addition, the railroad is pleased to announce the Premier-Class services have been increased again this year with the addition of the San Juan Coach, which will begin running June 2, 2008.

All passengers scheduled for the 7:30 a.m. train will be notified by railroad personnel and accommodated on an alternate train. For specific questions regarding this change, please contact Pam Ramsey at (970) 385-8806 or pramsey@durangotrain.com.
