Durango, CO In order to enable members of Durango City Council and Planning Commission to attend the Twin Buttes Community meeting, Mayor Renee Parsons has called a Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission.  This meeting will take place on Wednesday May 7, 2008, at 5:00 p.m. at Fort Lewis College in the Center for Southwest Studies, Lyceum Lecture Hall.  A brief presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m.

Twin Buttes, located at the western entrance to the City of Durango, is a proposed planned development of approximately 600 acres. This project is primarily residential, but also has some neighborhood-oriented commercial as well. Twin Buttes has been designed to embrace eco-friendly design principles. These principles include conserving the majority of land as open-space, preservation of wildlife habitat, clustered housing, and utilization of sustainable energy technologies for all the residential and commercial buildings.
