ALL are invited to attend a National Arbor Day tree planting at the Powerhouse (1333 Camino Del Rio, Durango CO) this Friday, April 25, 2008 at 11am.

This is the FIRST tree being planted at the future home of the Durango Discovery Museum, a project that will incorporate xeriscaping and green roofs. This first tree, a Robusta cottonwood, was donated by John Wichman of Native Roots Garden Center and will be planted and cared for by the Durango High Country Gardeners.

The Discovery Museum at the Powerhouse is an expansion project of the Children's Museum of Durango, a 501(c)(3) non-profit. When it opens, the museum will include an interactive science + energy center for all ages, sustainability labs, a restaurant and museum shop, an outdoor science park and sound garden, and Sudden Science camps and afterschool programs.
