Public Meetings Scheduled on City's Proposed Housing Strategies
The City of Durango and the Regional Housing Alliance of La Plata County have scheduled a series of public information meetings to encourage comments from the public and specific interest groups about a proposed Fair Share Housing Ordinance.

Durango, CO - The City of Durango and the Regional Housing Alliance of La Plata County have scheduled a series of public information meetings to encourage comments from the public and specific interest groups about a proposed Fair Share Housing Ordinance.   The proposed ordinance is one of the affordable housing strategies identified in the Regional Housing Alliance's Five Point Action Plan.  These meetings are designed to offer the community an opportunity to provide comments on the proposed ordinance prior to the public hearings before the Planning Commission and City Council. Anyone is welcome to attend any of the three meetings.

The first meeting will be Wednesday, May 14 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., in the Anasazi Room at the La Plata County Courthouse.  This meeting is intended primarily for members of the Durango Chamber of Commerce, La Plata Economic Development Action Partnership, and the Southwest Colorado Homebuilders Association.

The second meeting will be Thursday, May 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.  Attendees are welcome to bring a brown bag lunch to this meeting.

The third meeting will be Thursday, May 22 from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the City Council Chambers at City Hall.
