SJCA to benefit from Arts & Crafts Market

DURANGO, Colo. – The Arts & Crafts Market of Durango (ACMD) has selected the San Juan Citizen’s Alliance as the non-profit beneficiary of 5 percent of artists’ sales generated at the market during the month of July.

The ACMD is held every Saturday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Buckley Park, Main Ave. and 12th Street, in Downtown Durango. In addition to the proceeds from artists’ sales, SJCA will also hold a weekly silent auction.

“We are thrilled to be working with the Arts & Crafts Market of Durango during July to raise some much needed funds,” said Mark Pearson, executive director of the SJCA. “We depend on such donations to advocate for clean air and responsible energy development in the Four Corners.”

In a press release, the Arts & Crafts Market noted, “This is a great opportunity for art lovers, supporters of SJCA and lovers of our pristine environment to support all three interests simultaneously. By adding a work of art to their homes, people will be supporting a local artist, who will in turn donate to the SJCA who will use that money to defend the environment of the Four Corners.”

Admission to the Arts & Crafts Market is free of charge.
