DURANGO, Colo. – Season tickets for the San Juan Symphony’s Symphonic Visions concert series in both Durango and Farmington go on sale July 14, 2008.

Durango concerts are scheduled for Oct. 12 and Nov. 23, 2008 and Feb. 14 & April 18, 2009. Farmington concerts are set for Sept. 15 (Family Concert), Oct. 11 and Nov. 22, 2008 and April 19, 2009.

“When Arthur Post steps to the podium this fall to begin his seventh season as music director of the San Juan Symphony, he will lead the orchestra through masterpieces of the symphonic repertoire – the giants of classical music,” said Kathy Myrick, SJS executive director. “Each piece is revered as a journey of soaring ambition, dreams, striving and yearning. With passion superbly balanced by form, these great symphonies sound inevitable – as if they’ve been playing from some distant corner of the universe since before the beginning of time. Listening to them in the concert hall with others is a unique experience that takes us beyond ourselves.  Join us this season for an encounter with greatness.”

The Symphonic Visions concert season in Durango will be staged at the Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College. Season tickets, ranging $105 to $178 per person, are available at 970.247.7657 or online at www.durangoconcerts.com.
