Durango, CO – The City of Durango has contracted with Tres Mesas to conduct weed spraying along the bike path and City rights-of-way. Tres Mesas will be using 2,4D Amine, Milestone and Telar in effected areas to control Myrtle Spurge and Musk Thistle and other broadleaf weeds according to the following schedule:
- May 19th & 20th – Bike path from Santa Rita park south to Dallabetta Park.
City property and walking trail behind Walmart along Dominquez Dr.
- May 21st. – Cemetery and Cemetery Road, Chapman Hill and surrounding buildings.
City property and right of way off Columbine just south of Needham Dr.
- May 22nd – River trail just north of Santa Rita park to East 3rd Ave and 29th St.
The Parks and Forestry Division will also be performing root zone ground injections for approximately 150 American Elm Trees located in the public right-of-way and City Parks throughout the community. The root zone injections will be done by a contract company and will target the insect European Elm Scale and Leaf Roller Aphids. The applications will begin immediately and proceed throughout the spring.
