Durango, CO – The City of Durango has contracted with Tres Mesas to conduct weed spraying along the bike path and City rights-of-way. Tres Mesas will be using 2,4D Amine, Milestone and Telar in effected areas to control Myrtle Spurge and Musk Thistle and other broadleaf weeds according to the following schedule:

• May 19^th & 20^th – Bike path from Santa Rita park south to Dallabetta Park.

City property and walking trail behind Walmart along Dominquez Dr.

• May 21^st. – Cemetery and Cemetery Road, Chapman Hill and surrounding buildings.

City property and right of way off Columbine just south of Needham Dr.

• May 22^nd – River trail just north of Santa Rita park to East 3rd Ave and 29^th St.

The Parks and Forestry Division will also be performing root zone ground injections for approximately 150 American Elm Trees located in the public right-of-way and City Parks throughout the community. The root zone injections will be done by a contract company and will target the insect European Elm Scale and Leaf Roller Aphids. The applications will begin immediately and proceed throughout the spring.
