BAYFIELD, Colo. – The Bayfield Steamworks Brewing Co. continued its “Wolverine Wednesdays” program through the fourth quarter of 2007 and has presented $1158.70 to Bayfield High School, earmarked to support the Wolverines Marching Band.
Wolverine Wednesdays is part of Steamworks’ corporate policy to “give back” to local communities. At Steamworks-Bayfield, each Wednesday the brewpub sets aside 3 percent of total sales for the day. At the end of the quarter these funds are totaled and donated to a targeted Bayfield High School program. Since the program’s launch in the second quarter of 2007, approximately $3500 has been given to Bayfield youth. Previous recipients have been Bayfield’s Fall Athletics program and Theatre Troupe.
“We’re extremely pleased with the consistency of this program and the support from the community,” said Brian McEachron, Steamworks director of marketing and sales. “The three months of Wednesday’s sales this first quarter of 08 is going to support the Bayfield Student Council.”
The name Wolverine Wednesdays is derived from the mascot for Bayfield High School – the students are “The Wolverines.” Steamworks Bayfield is also located at 442 Wolverine Drive.
“Wednesdays continue to be very strong at the Bayfield pub,” added McEachron. “It’s terrific see everyone coming out to Steamworks for a great meal and great beer for a good cause.”
Steamworks Brewing Co. is open from 11 a.m., serving lunch and dinner. For further information regarding Wolverine Wednesdays, as well as wholesale beer purchase, contact the Bayfield operation at 970.884.7837, or visit www.steamworksbrewing.com.
The original Steamworks Brewing Co. – Durango’s “2005 Business of the Year” – is located at 801 E. Second. Ave., Durango (970.259.9200).
