With just a little more than two weeks to go, mom's and dad's of superheroes and princesses better get the costumes together... quick! Get out the scissors and glue, cardboard and some wild fabric and make your little one's costume this year.

Inspired by Durango's beginnings, this coming weekend's Heritage Celebration commemorates the colorful and diverse history of our great town. 2010 marks the third year that The Durango Heritage Celebration has taken place.

Here in Durango, practically everyone does "Two-A-Days." A hike and a bike ride, jog the dog and an exercise class, run the trails and lift weights. It's just what Duragoan's do. In fact, some magazine somewhere did list Durango as one of the healthiest/most active places to live, right?

Head on down to Main Ave. this weekend to experience all of the festivities of the 7th Annual Oktoberfest.  The weekend includes a great music lineup: Alte Kameraden, In a Day, Alpiners, Paper Bird, Mingo FishtrapRobby Overfield, Lawn Chair Klings and Nosotros.

You've got to try the Himalayan Kitchen. They bring authentic flavors of the high-mountain regions of Tibet, Nepal, and India to your table right here in Durango, CO. The food is delicious, take for example the traditional Nepalese Daal Bhat (Tarkaari-veggie; Maasu-meat).

Climbing, Yoga, Coffee and Community...some would say that's a great combination. Finding them all in one place...now that's a 5.10. Walker Thompson, owner/founder of The Rock Lounge in Durango decided to open the climbing gym to bring back the indoor climbing that so many locals have missed.

On the Northwest corner of Main and College Ave., up a flight of stairs, and across a little bridge, you are going to find some pretty tasty fare partnered with excellent live music. The Balcony Bar & Grill opened earlier this spring at the location formerly occupied by El Patio- at 600 Main Ave.
